B.A. (Ed.) Christian Religious Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A. Ed.) Course Structure

The B.A. (Ed.) Christian Religious Studies program is structured to offer both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. It typically spans four years, divided into eight semesters, with a blend of core, elective, and practical teaching courses:

  • Year 1 & 2: Foundation courses in Bible knowledge, Christian ethics, and basic teaching methodology.

  • Year 3: Specialized studies in Old & New Testament interpretation, philosophy of religion, and curriculum planning.

  • Year 4: Practical teaching internship, research projects, and advanced courses in Christian leadership and pedagogy.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students must meet the general admission standards of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, including:

  • SSCE/GCE: Minimum of five credits in English Language, Christian Religious Studies, and other relevant subjects, including Mathematics and a science subject.

  • JAMB: A satisfactory score in the UTME with Christian Religious Studies as one of the preferred subjects.

  • Direct Entry: Applicants with A-Level, NCE, or equivalent qualifications in relevant fields may gain admission directly into the second year.
