B.Sc. (Ed.) Computer Education

(Ed.) in Computer Education at Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education (AIFCE) is designed to empower the next generation of educators and tech innovators. The B.Sc. (Ed.) Computer Education program is a dynamic combination of theoretical foundations, practical computing skills, and innovative teaching methodologies. Students gain expertise in programming, networking, database management, software development, and instructional technologies. Beyond technical skills, the program emphasizes the art of teaching, curriculum design, and educational psychology, preparing graduates to inspire learners in diverse educational settings.

Course Structure

The curriculum spans four years, divided into eight semesters, and covers a balance of core computer science subjects, education courses, and practical teaching experiences. Key courses include:

Entry Requirements

Prospective students must meet the university’s general admission standards, including:

  • Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) with credit passes in Mathematics, English, Physics, and any two of Chemistry, Biology, or Technical Drawing.

  • JAMB UTME with a minimum score set by the university, choosing Computer Education as the preferred course of study.

  • Direct entry candidates may apply with relevant A-levels, NCE, or ND qualifications.
