The B.Sc. (Ed.) Course Structure

The B.Sc. (Ed.) Human Kinetics programme follows a comprehensive four-year structure that covers both educational and professional training. Courses are grouped into General Studies, Core Human Kinetics Courses, Science Foundation Courses, and Teaching Practice/Field Work.

Entry Requirements

To gain admission into the B.Sc. (Ed.) Human Kinetics programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

UTME Candidates

  • Possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits in relevant subjects including:

    • English Language

    • Biology or Physical Education

    • Chemistry

    • Mathematics

    • Any other science-related subject

  • Sit for the UTME with relevant subject combinations such as:

    • English Language

    • Biology

    • Chemistry/Physics

    • Any other science or social science subject

  • Meet the cut-off mark set by the university for the programme.

Direct Entry Candidates

  • Must possess:

    • NCE in Physical & Health Education or related fields (with merit or above)

    • OR a recognized diploma in Human Kinetics or Sports Science

  • Must also have five (5) credit passes at O’Level as stated above.

Students participate in daily practical sessions, inter-departmental sports activities, officiating practice, fitness assessments, and recreation management exercises. This ensures that theory is immediately translated into real-world competence.
